Vid ett annat tillfälle sa han ”it might be worse than a murder, this homosexual activities.”

“According to such thought processes, it is lunacy to deem homosexuality a crime against humanity yet it is good judgment and tolerance to accept men in a homosexual relationship adopting a child and depriving him/her of the kindness and feminine qualities of a mother that a man can never satisfy.

“Now no one in their right mind ever calls for the execution of anyone living in a democratic state. Can you say that anyone from the Muslim community has ever called for gays to be killed, or apostates? No.Scholars refer to these measures to be applied when living in an Islamic state and when the rigorous conditions are met.

Islamic law is only applied in an Islamic state and where rigorous conditions are met, and not until then. “

Shady Alsuleiman

“And remember that if there is an Islamic state the punishment of zina, the punishment of those who commit zina, if they have never been married before, they will be lashed 100 lashes. And if they are married while they committed zina, or previously been married and divorced, and they committed zina, then their punishment is stoning to death. So it’s not a small thing. Islam, the sharia, did not enforce that penalty over those who commit zina as stoning, you know stoning like execution, if Islam did not see how big and great that sin is, it’s so big and so humongous that sin that the sharia had laid a penalty down of stoning if those who commit zina had previously been married before.”

“What’s the most common disease these days? HIV, AIDS, that’s so common and there’s no cure whatsoever. And when did it exist? Decades ago. And more diseases are coming. And most of the diseases these days, if you speak to a doctor, the most terrifying diseases come from what? From sexual activities, where in someone who is not clean sleeping with someone who is clean. Also homosexuality that is spreading all these diseases. You know lets not deny the fact. Don’t call it the name of freedom. Don’t talk about freedom and, you know, this is the freedom of action and we could do whatever we want. It doesn’t mean that freedom of action you destroy a nation. These are evil actions that bring evil outcomes to our society.”

Abdur Rahman Green

Adultery is punishable by death, and a slow and painful death by stoning. It is indicative of just how harmful this crime is to society…

Let us also bear in mind that Muslims societies take every precaution to avoid the means that can lead to adultery. Public nudity is forbidden. In fact a strict dress code is observed. This is part of the wisdom behind the hijab… Also free mixing between sexes is avoided, men and women should not have physical contact and men and women should not even be alone together (unless they are husband and wife, or from close relatives who are permanently forbidden in marriage). Again in this context adultery is inexcusable, and justly punished with severity…

Such crimes thus need suitable and effective punishments that act as a sever warning to others. A public crime deserves a public punishment…

There is another direction from which the wisdom of such a punishment can be understood, and that is the death of two criminals can prevent the death and agony of many innocents. There is no doubt that adultery has caused many a jilted partner to kill not only the partner but in some instances the children as well. This is the harm that we can measure and see. It is more than likely that the psychological effects on the jilted partner, the children and their families is extensive, and can lead to behavioural problems that ultimately effect the well being of the whole society!

The “harm” of the punishment for adultery is offset by the need of the “benefit” and protects the wider society. All of this also goes some way to help understand way acts of homosexuality are simlarily treated so harshly.

Homosexualitet är en av de saker som måste straffas enligt sharialagarna.

“So finally, we want to very, very briefly touch upon the issue of homosexuality which again is something which is a serious, serious sin in the religion of Islam which Allah (SWT) prohibited us from…and in fact, indeed again it is one of those things that has a proscribed punishment in Islamic law for people who are found participating in this what is to be considered to be an unnatural act.”

“First of all I don’t like to use this word ‘gay’. This word ‘gay’, to use it is already to be fooled by the propaganda of these people, OK? This word is used in order to make this evil and vile act acceptable in society. They should be called at least homosexuals, this is the least. Better to use a more derogatory term like sodomites, this is a better term. Sodomite refers, and therefore automatically brings to mind, in the minds of the people, Sodom and Gomorrah which are the two towns to which Allah sent the Prophet Lut alaihis-salam, who indulged, and they were the first people to indulge in this evil and vile act which Allah severely criticised and condemned in the Quran.”

“Just to illustrate I want to tell you a joke, and it’s not true, it’s a joke. There was this man, he emigrated from the United States of America, from San Francisco, he emigrated to Afghanistan. You know when the Taliban were in power, he went to live there. So they said to him, they were asking him, it’s just a joke, it’s not true, they asked him ‘Why did you leave the land of the free and the land of the brave, America with all the money and all those nice things and everything you want and you came to live in Afghanistan? Why?’ He said ‘When I was a young man homosexuality was a crime. When I grew up they made homosexuality lawful. In fact they made it a crime to dislike homosexuals and call it homophobia.’ He said ‘I was afraid if I stayed around in America any longer they would make it compulsory.’ And really if we think about it, this is the case of democracy. If you say the sovereignty are with the people, and the people can legislate, and the people can decide, I mean here on the very basic philosophical level, I know that countries have constitutions, I know that different ideas of democracy encompass different limitations for minorities and so on and so forth, but that’s not what I’m discussing. I am discussing the very basic concepts and that’s it.At the very basic concept we all have to agree as Muslims that making a crime which is a ‘crime’ in Islam, to say it is actually a crime to have a problem with this ‘crime’, do you understand what I’m saying? It’s a criminal offence in England to revile someone because of their homosexuality. So now it has been made a crime to hate the crime. Can we accept this as Muslims? Can we say that Islam is compatible with this? Does any person in this room think that this type of ideology is compatible with what Allah has revealed? I hope not.”

“That is democracy, the rule of the people. So if they want to make homosexuality halal, they make it halal. If they want to make beer halal, they make it halal. Wa…if they want to make it compulsory for you to experience some, you know, homosexuality, ’cause after all it’s natural, they tell us now yes? They can make it law, they’ll make it law.”

Haitham al-Haddad

“The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication, flog each of them with stripes, let not compassion move you in neither case, in a matter prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day and let a party of the Believers, some Believers to witness their punishment. Ibn Qayyim has really beautiful explanation for this ayah. He said Allah has made the penal laws related to adultery and fornication this thing in three ways from this ayah. First of all he said the penalty of death for it, whenever applicable, is done in the harshest manner possible. Which is what? Stoning. Then Allah has forbid his slaves to be of merciful, to be merciful with those who commit adultery.”

***

“Who is going to put a system to stop fornication? Or to lash those who fornicate? Who can put a legislation to stone the adulterers and the adulterer? Who can do that? It is the lawmakers. Those who can do that are the people in charge. Those who are having power. Those people they can establish the Islamic system in it’s totality.”

“We are commanded to stone the adulterers. Is that true or not? How can we establish that rule if we are not having an Islamic system? Agree? Do you agree on this or not? That’s why you tell people those who deny that this is the aim, you tell them ‘Is establishing these punishments, this hudood, is it a must on us or not?’ Forget about Muslims in the West, is it a must, is it an obligation upon Muslims to establish the hudood? They will say yes. No one can negate that.”

***

“Now they want to define marriage between the same sex. A man to get married to a man and a woman to get married to a woman. Ibn Qayyim Ibn Qayyim Rehmatullah Alaih, look at this, he said (Arabic) the homosexual activities is one of the most evil sins that Allah (jalla wa ala) hates the most. And he said that, after shirk, this homosexual activity might be the second biggest sin. Even he said it might be worse than a murder, this homosexual activities.”

***

In order to combat the scourge of homosexuality Allah has ordained us to speak out, and that we should co-operate with others in righteousness and God-consciousness.

We also appreciate the brave stance of the Nobel peace prize winner and president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, in defending a law that criminalises homosexual acts and determinedly standing for higher moral standards.

It is one thing to give equal rights to different communities so as to reflect our diverse and multicultural society, and quite another to afford a criminal act (according to the fundamentals of all faiths) the same legitimacy as an extremely natural and godly method of seeking union with a member of the opposite sex.”

“We have limits. We cannot drink alcohol. We cannot leave our hijab. We cannot allow Muslim women to marry non-Muslim men. I’m taking about basic principles that no Muslim can go against. No Muslim can say well we, yes we need to go in the pubs and drink alcohol. We cannot commit adultery and zina, we cannot be involved in that leave alone being involved in homosexual activities. When the issue of homosexuality came, what do we do about it? ‘Al-amr bi’l-ma’ruf wa’l-nahy ‘an al-munkar’ – you should enjoin the good or, and forbid the evil…or Allah is about to send upon you adhab. Send upon you all adhab if you stop enjoining the good and forbidding the evil. Even those people who try to water down the issue of homosexuality from an Islamic point of view, ask them internally what do you believe about homosexuality? They believe that it is a crime. All Muslims believe in this.”

Yusuf al-Qaradawi

Question: Please, could you tell me the ruling on homosexuality: sodomy and lesbianism. And if it isharam [prohibited], what is the punishment for it in Islam?

Dr. Qaradawi answers: We must be aware that in regulating the sexual drive Islam has prohibited not only illicit sexual relations and all what leads to them, but also the sexual deviation known as homosexuality. This perverted act is a reversal of the natural order, a corruption of man’s sexuality, and a crime against the rights of females. (The same applies equally to the case of lesbianism.)

The spread of this depraved practice in a society disrupts its natural life pattern and makes those who practice it slaves to their lusts, depriving them of decent taste, decent morals, and a decent manner of living. The story of the people of Prophet Lut (Lot), peace be upon him, as narrated in the Qur’an should be sufficient for us. Prophet Lut’s people were addicted to this shameless depravity, abandoning natural, pure, lawful relations with women in the pursuit of this unnatural, foul and illicit practice. That is why their Prophet Lut, peace be on him, told them, ”What! Of all creatures, do you approach males and leave the spouses whom your Lord has created for you? Indeed, you are people transgressing (all limits)!” (Qur’an, 26: 165-166)

The strangest expression of these peoples’ perversity of nature, lack of guidance, depravity of morals, and aberration of taste was their attitude toward the guests of Prophet Lut, peace be upon him.[Here follows a digression on the story of Lot as related in the Qur’an.—Eds.]

Muslim jurists have held differing opinions concerning the punishment for this abominable practice. Should it be the same as the punishment for fornication, or should both the active and passive participants be put to death? While such punishments may seem cruel, they have been suggested to maintain the purity of the Islamic society and to keep it clean of perverted elements.

“This ayah just cited comes after the ayah prescribing the punishment of flogging for fornicators (This punishment has been prescribed for the unmarried fornicator and his partner, while the punishment of death by stoning, if the crime is proved either by four male adult eye witnesses to the act or by self confession, has been prescribed for the married adulterer and his partner.”

“Allah has mentioned three crimes for which the death penalty is justified:

Publicly committing zina with a person who is not one’s spouse if at least four upright people have actually witnessed intercourse taking place and testified before the court that they saw it. The death penalty applies to either of the two who is married. Confession, repeated four times before the court by the adulterer or adulteress, is equivalent to the testimony of four witnesses.

Apostasy from Islam after willingly accepting it and subsequently declaring an open revolt against it in such a manner which threatens the solidarity of the Muslim community is a crime punishable by death. No one is compelled to accept Islam, but at the same time no one is permitted to play tricks with it, as some Jews did during the Prophet’s time.”

Bilal Philips

“The consequence of AIDS is enough to prove that homosexuality is evil and dangerous to society.”

“It is inconceivable that God made people homosexuals then declared it a crime and prescribed punishments for it in both this life and the next.”

“The Western fashion industry is controlled by homosexuals who attempt to blur the distinction between males and females in order to make their behavior more acceptable.”

***

“In Islamic Law, the punishment for homosexuality is no different from the punishment for adultery and fornication. It can be death. It’s looked at as a deviation, just as if somebody is involved in bestiality. It is a punishment for deviant behaviour which threatens the family structure of the society”

***

“…we have homosexuals who are accepted. They will walk among the girls, and the girls will play and laugh and joke with them, and the society turns a blind eye. These are among the forbidden loves, forbidden forms of love, which have spread and have established roots in the society which need to be rooted out.”

***
“…Islamic law says that if you’re caught in the act in an Islamic state, you will be executed. If you’ve been seen by four witnesses etc. execution – that’s the law…So I’ve attacked the homosexuals according to their judgement because it is not for them, it’s not enough to say ‘Well OK we accept you, you have the right to make your choice’ no, they’re saying ‘Don’t even say anything against us. Not only toleration, we want to be respected and liked.’ “

***

“Islaam recognizes corporal punishment for major crimes, 100 lashes for fornication, 80 for drunkedness and slander.”

“In the Islaamic system, punishments are placed in three categories: i) Hudood: Punishments prescribed by God in a revealed text of the Qur’aan or Sunnah, the application of which is the right of God (Haqq Allaah). 6 offenses: drinking alcohol; theft; armed robbery; illicit sex [homosexual, paedophilia, bestiality]; sexual slander; and apostacy.”

“The punishment for fornication, 100 lashes might seem sufficient to cause death in many people. However, the one implementing the punishment is not allowed to raise his hand above shoulder level.”

Yasir Quadhi

“For those who have been around for a little bit longer than those who are eighteen or nineteen, look at how this own society and culture has evolved in the way it looks at homosexuals. In our own time, I remember as a kid in the eighties, which gives you an idea how old I was, growing up in the eighties I grew up, OK? I remember how homosexuals were looked down upon and the names that were given to these people, and how disgusted the average masses were with that segment of society. Now look, now look at how we have regressed, not progressed. Where it is impossible, forget a Muslim, even a Christian or a Jew can not stand up in public in front of a non-Muslim audience and speak against homosexuality, he is a homophobe, he is an evil person, how dare he preach his hatred against this group of people? A group of people by the way who were punished the likes of which no other nation has been punished. From the time of Adam until the Day of Judgement, no community, no group of people have been punished like the people of Lut have been punished.
